The types of Pilates classes we offer at POWMAK

Our Classes

At POWMAK in Windsor we have 2 large studio rooms dedicated to all things Pilates. We have traditional mat classes as well as a high-cardio class and specialist classes. All classes are small group sessions of a maximum of 12 clients, allowing us to observe everyone’s movement and give individual adjustment.

Our classes and sessions are for any level. You can join any machine or mat class no matter your age, level or injury status as we are confident in managing mixed groups. We can regress or progress each exercise depending not only on the history in your file, but also how you’re feeling on the day to ensure that everyone gets the most out of each exercise.

It also means that you can always find a class time to suit your schedule. Each class is teacher-led and just under an hour long. Find out more about:

1-1 Assessments

We recommend that you have a 1:1 assessment with us as a starting point. We’ll talk through any injury and fitness history with you and get you moving on the machines to assess your movement. We’ll then make recommendations on the best programme to reach your goals. We’ve helped clients with lots of different injuries and conditions so we understand how to use Pilates to support rehabilitation.

You’ll need to be wearing ‘grippy’ socks for this session which you can buy online or from us when you arrive at the studio.

POWMAT - Classical Mat Pilates

Our POWMAT classes are based on the original 34 exercises devised by Joseph Pilates. We have a large mat Pilates room with under-floor heating and a maximum and anyone is welcome as we can cater for all levels in the same class. The large mat studio room is under-floor heated and all of the mats and equipment are provided. The class is never large than 12 people giving you a relaxed space to work out and allowing us to give you the adjustment that you need.

You’ll need to be wearing ‘grippy’ socks for this session which you can buy online or from us when you arrive at the studio.

POWMAX - Pilates on Machines

The Pilates machines are the reformer, bench, Wunda chair and other smaller pieces. The reformer is a moving carriage with attached springs of different resistance which can support you when you’re not strong and push you when you are. They can look a bit scary when you first see them but are an amazing bit of kit and you’ll feel the benefit of this type of exercise even after one session. Our reformer classes are small group sessions which are always teacher-led and you’ll always be doing exercises suitable for your level. The sessions are always varied and you could be working on the reformer, the bench, smaller equipment or a combination of everything.

POWMIX – High Cardio Barre Class

POWMIX is a brilliant high-intensity workout that sculpts and tones your body whilst you sweat it out in a fun and fast-paced class. We’ve designed this cardio class to give the maximum workout with minimum stress on the joints and body. It’s a combination of Barre, HIIT and Plyometrics, all underpinned with the principles of Pilates. So much more effective and fun than a gym session!

You’ll need to be wearing ‘grippy’ socks or indoor training shoes for this class as well as little gloves (similar to weight training gloves) to make sure that you can do everything safely. You can buy socks (£15) and gloves (£5) from us when you arrive at the studio.

We have a fantastic specialist teacher who will take you through a programme of exercises that you can do at any stage within your pregnancy. Join us whether you’ve just found out, are due next week or have recently given birth. If you do have a lovely new bundle of joy they can join you too!
